Our story
Founded on passion. Driven by results.
Dr. Viraj Pattapola passed the IMAT, studied medicine at the University of Campania in Naples, and is now a resident in infectious and tropical diseases.
He knows first-hand what international students face, and founded SMIT Academy to help Sri Lankan young people make the same journey into Italian higher education.

ProjectCollaboration with the Naples City CouncilSMIT works with the Naples city council on healthcare for the city’s immigrant communities. Dr. Pattapola has attended a medical clinic for Sri Lankan immigrants organised by the council, and plans are under way for a clinic serving minority communities, staffed with help from Sri Lankan medical students in Italy.Read about the clinic →
