Hi!

I am Sanuthi Sankalpana, currently a first-year student at the University of Parma studying Medicine and Surgery. I pursued primary and secondary education at Musaeus College, Colombo 07 and completed Advanced Level studies at Asian International school in August 2023.

Upon completing my Advanced levels I was researching for different options to pursue my higher studies. Whilst I was at the final stages of moving to a different country, I came across SMIT academy with mere 2 months for the IMAT (International Medical Admission Test). This is a very competitive examination and usually preparations commence at least 6 months prior.

I was given immense support to catch-up by SMIT Academy where they helped me to prepare well with the limited time I had. They assisted with both technical and mental support to prepare me for this examination and I firmly believe that this unwavering sponsorship was one of the key factors of my success.

In addition to this, SMIT Academy guided me through the rest of the process until the time I received my student visa to enter Italy. This was a really long and challenging process too and the guidance provided by SMIT academy helped me to navigate through this process in timely fashion.

University of Parma’s Medicine and Surgery course in English is held in a small historical city called Piacenza. The course is interesting and the professors ensure that the students have a conducive yet challenging environment for their studies. The city itself is beautiful with many churches and historical buildings with architectural excellence. It is a peaceful and safe place for students with multi-cultural values, cuisines and picturesque sights.
